Yes a no nonsense get on with it player typical of his time when money etc had not
“corrupted” the game.
Unspectacular as you say but Mr Dependable.
Following Ron Springett was a difficult act to follow but he did it without fuss.
To be followed by Peter Springett.

Re: Portsmouth Yesterday.....
It could and probably should have been a 6-5 score line at the end. We were fortunate to face a side unable to defend and it was nearly a case of having to score more than we let in. Why both goalkeepers did not wear caps is strange. Is it not fashionable now? Walsh appeared to stand still for their...

Leicester
Congratulations to the team on an excellent win. However the largely dross that preceded it must not be forgotten so it begs the question what has been going on? Did the team demand changes in tactics and players playing in their preferred positions I wonder. Probably we will never know and hopefull...

Good for those of us who are unable to regularly attend games but once again for
those who have to book travel arrangements in advance it must be so annoying.
Only saving grace it hasn’t been moved to mid week.

Re: Birmingham
Yes and that hardly reached the keeper! One other telling stat they had four yellow cards we had none despite Mbengue doing his best to get his tenth booking and a suspension :roll We rarely got near their players to have a chance of a card. The other worrying stat is our rapidly deteriorating goals...

Re: Sleepwalking into relegation
If we are going to change managers once again please do it now so the incoming manager can see what he has been lumbered with and can plan for next season accordingly. We know this team is capable of putting in performances but if they can’t do it consistently there must be a disconnect between the ...

Re: Sleepwalking into relegation
As I have said about the only things he got right was to not wait until near the end for subs and to put Poku on. Our display in the first half was unacceptable and he seemed to be doing very little to change it. It was obvious after the first few minutes we were playing to our recent inept form and...

Re: Birmingham
Yet another defeat and in an appalling first half we should have been four down. We got away with a 1-0 defeat due to an improved second half without looking like scoring. Only plus points the appearance of the rare lesser spotted Poku who had a lively cameo and at long last subs at halftime. Unfort...

A couple of visits ago we noticed that the Cookes wall sign had been repainted.
Are they still operating or something to appease those who care?

Re: Birmingham
So who will he put on the pitch this evening? The strange substitutions at the end of the Boro match gave you the distinct feeling that he hadn’t a clue what to do. Why is Cook left on the bench if fit? I understand they did load the bingo ball machine on the Team Bus so we can now only wait to see ...
