Norwich game

Post by ESSEXURs »

Well that was a chalk and cheese performance.
First half we showed signs of getting back to our early season style although
we did not create many chances. However the second half after their scrambled
goal went in we were true to form of late with aimless boot it anywhere balls with
no interpassing or shape.

It was as if someone had thrown a switch. Dieng seemed to think he could waste time
with his goal kicks and clearances as if he thought a draw was acceptable.
The inspired early season team would have overwhelmed a poor Norwich defence.

The lack of on target shots is a feature that will send us down and this lot seem incapable
of correcting the situation.

I thought it was a good game & a good performance from the Rs - such
a transformation from the recent dross, I was amazed.

First half, especially, we looked like the old side that had risen to the dizzy heights of
the Play-Off zone not so long ago -
some great passing between groups of players, determined tackling, a great never-say-die team....
spirit it was great to see the Rs play like that again.

2nd half, yes we dropped off a bit; I expect the Canaries had had a good half-time bollocking.
Only to be expected that they'd come at us.
Their goal was a bit lucky, a bit of a goal-mouth scramble, when it goes in if they're lucky.....
still, at least our heads didn't drop.

And congrats to the fans, for not losing faith when the equaliser went in.
In fact, the noise was deafening throughout, at least up in Q Block.
