Welcome to Liam Morrison & Hevertton Santos...

Post by Steve Russell »

Welcome to them...

'QPR have completed the signings of right-back Hevertton Santos and centre-back Liam Morrison.
Santos, 23, joins the club after leaving Estrela da Amadora in the Portugese top flight, having come through
the youth system at Sporting Lisbon.

“I am very happy to be here,” Santos said.

“This is a very historical club with a huge story. I am really excited to be with the fans at Loftus Road and to feel their
passion.”

Having spent his career in Portugal, Santos wants to test himself in a new environment, explaining: “I like this type of
challenge. Life is made of opportunities and this is a big one for me.

“It was always my dream to play in England because I love the way you think about football here, the way you play football
here. When you compare with other countries, it is like another sport.”

Santos, who played 29 of 34 league games in the Primeira Liga last season, added: “Last year was a nice experience for all of
us, it was special for me. Playing in the big stadiums of Portugal against Sporting, Benfica, Porto, it was very good.”

Describing himself as a player, Santos said: “I like to be active on the attacks, I like to do assists and goals, create plays for the
team.

“I have pace, and in defence I am strong in the duels and one-v-ones. I enjoy both sides of the game.

“In modern football, you have to be complete and that is what I am looking to be - that complete player.”

Meanwhile, Morrison, 21, has signed permanently from Bayern Munich. The Scotland Under-21 captain came through the ranks
at Celtic before moving to the German giants in 2019 and spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic in League One.

“I’m delighted,” he said. “It has been something that has been in the works for the last couple of weeks and I am really looking
forward to getting started.”

Having spent the past year with the Latics, where he made 35 appearances in all competitions, Morrison feels he is well-equipped
to deal with the challenges the Championship will throw at him, explaining: “League One is also a demanding league, a very physical
league. There are a lot of games, like the Championship.

“I know the Championship is a step up but I am confident I will be able to handle that step.”

Having spent the past five years with Bayern Munich, Morrison explained why he was keen on a move to W12.

“The way QPR are aiming to progress in the future is something that suits me,” he said, “and the way they love to play football
is also my style of football, so for me to take the next step in my career, this was a no brainer.”

Describing himself as a player, Morrison said: “I am a typical, Scottish defender – you throw your body in front of the ball to make
sure it doesn’t go in the goal!

“I am comfortable with the ball at my feet, a lot of my game is about playing out from the back, and I have good leadership
qualities so hopefully I can bring that to the team.”

Welcome to the club Hevertton and Liam!

Both transfers are subject to international clearance.'

Two young players with great potential and the type of signings we should be making, I have no doubt Marti Cifuentes
will work with these lads and hopefully improve them as players. We have some extremely talented young players at QPR now,
we also have a manager who is also a very good coach.

After years of inept managers, coaches and a woeful DOF, Marti Cifuentes and Christian Nourry have given us QPR supporters
optimism for the future.
