Middlesbrough game

Post by ESSEXURs »

Yet again an awful performance against a side that also struggles to score.
We waste half the game faffing at the back and when we do reach the opposition box area we are
slow and clueless.

Assuming the manager chose these new signings and dictates the style of play should he go?
It will be an expensive option but there appears to be few signs we will get out of the position we are in.

The crowd will not take many more such results especially at home and then they will be on the players backs which
will produce more problems.

We do not look a team and we have been like that from the start of the season so if we’re going to improve it should show
by now. What do we do on the training ground? We obviously do not correct our problem areas and sadly that is down to
the manager and his assistants.

As I can see no signs of a change in style and to answer my own question I feel we need a change in manager.

Chris Hewitt posted this on the Indy's Facebook group...

'On the tube home tonight, a guy opposite me on a West Ruislip train informed me that we have just set a new
QPR record. It’s the first time in our illustrious history (over 140 years) that we have not won in our first 8 home
league games.'

Colin I share your despair. How has it come to this?

We were thrashed at home by an average Boro' team. An awful result and performance. Indeed where do
we go from here?

OK we have injuries but quite frankly only Dembele and Nardi of the influx of signings we have made are in my
opinion up to standard.

We are going to need plenty of additional decent signings going forward from here if we are
to avoid relegation.

I thought it would be nearly impossible to sign a striker inferior to Dykes or Armstrong but we
have certainly managed that :(

In over 65 seasons of supporting the Rs and in our darkest periods we have at least managed to win some home games.
If you are set up and play like the away side you reap what you sow.
You do not let away sides settle as we do. Provide the style of play the fans demand and Loftus Road will again be Fortress
Loftus Road.

There were the usual shouts of 'movement' & 'close them down' plus a number
of others

Then, we suddenly had four shots at goal in 6/7 mins.

Santos was having a hard time at left-back against their No.50.

Into the 2nd half & we & a number of Rangers players watched them tap the ball to each other in training
ground fashion,then...it was around the hour-mark when someone flicked a switch & we finally decided to get into
them & forced them into making mistakes

Why would you bring on Elijah Dixon-Bonner with less than a minute remaining

A vg defensive display at Burnley, followed by a big improvement in midfield on Saturday to last night's
all-round shambles.

Are they playing to orders or just totally frustrated by the tactics they are being asked to play?
Do the players suddenly take it on themselves to play as they want producing these short periods of relative success.
There is no consistency in our play and when we switch off as you say Steve we always pay the penalty no matter
the strength of the opposition.
