Re: Good Luck to QPR FC Women Tomorrow (Sunday)
From the Club...
'QPR FC Women are refocused on their Adobe Women’s FA Cup campaign today (Sunday), as we host
Saltdean United in a rescheduled second-round clash at the SkyEx Community Stadium.
The R’s were leading 1-0 in last week’s abandoned tie - courtesy of Georgie Lewin’s first-half strike - before
adverse weather conditions forced the game to be postponed in the second half.
Now, Rangers are eager to finish the job and progress to the third round, where London Bees await next
weekend.
The attacking Courtnay Ward-Chambers is a key figure in the QPR team. Returning to Rangers last November,
her wealth of experience and passion for the game have been invaluable to Danny Harrigan’s side.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s replay, Courtnay shared her thoughts with www.qpr.co.uk, explaining:
"The decision to abandon the game was tough for us to take.
"We were ahead late in the game, having played against the wind in the first half and getting that
brilliant goal from Georgie.
"In the early part of the second half, I felt like we were really taking control of the game. But then the
weather became a huge factor, the wind and conditions affected both teams, and with the dugout flying
out of the ground, the decision was made to call the game.
"Now, it’s a chance to go again, and we’re ready.
"We’ve prepared well this week, worked on the things we needed to as a group, and everyone is fully
focused.
"There’s a real determination in the team to finish the job, get the win, and move on to the next round."
