Congratulations to Andy Evans on his Well Deserved Award

Post by Steve Russell »

From the Club...
'QPR in the Community Trust CEO Andy Evans has been honoured with the prestigious PFA Memento Award
in recognition of his exceptional community contributions and over three decades of dedicated service to
Queen's Park Rangers Football Club and the local community.

The PFA Memento Award celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities,
demonstrated long-standing commitment, and served as exceptional advocates of the Professional Footballers’
Association’s initiatives.

Andy’s journey with QPR began an incredible 34 years ago, during which time he has played a pivotal role in
developing and delivering community programmes that have had a profound impact across west London and beyond.

His leadership, vision and passion have helped shape the QPR Community Trust into a beacon of positive change,
supporting countless individuals and families through education, sports participation, social inclusion and more.

The award was presented to Andy ahead of kick-off at our recent Championship fixture against Derby County at
MATRADE Loftus Road.

Evans was joined on the pitch by QPR legends Andy Sinton and Simon Barker, alongside Dave Palmer, who had the
honour of presenting the award on behalf of the PFA.

Speaking about receiving the award, Andy shared: “It was a truly special evening for me personally to receive the
award from Simon Barker and our very own club ambassador, Andy Sinton, two players I’ve watched do amazing things
for our club right here at this stadium. To stand on the pitch where they played so many matches and to receive the
award from them meant a great deal to me.

“It was made even more special because I was able to share the moment with my father, who first brought me to
QPR when I was just five years old. It’s something I’ll always cherish.”

Dave Palmer, PFA head of community, said: “I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving than Andy to be recognised
for our PFA Memento Award.

“He has provided outstanding community service at the club for well over 30 years and has been a fantastic PFA
advocate, championing our player engagement work and providing wonderful support for our members, the players,
throughout his time at the club.

“He is hugely respected by his peers within our network and is always the voice of wisdom! It has been a pleasure
and privilege to see at first-hand the incredible impact in the community that he has made along with all his Trust staff.”

Former R's midfielder Barker - now director of player services at the PFA - added: “I first met Andy in the 1990s when
I was a player at Rangers and he was in the Box Office, and then started working for the club’s newly formed ‘Football
in the Community’ department.

“I have since seen him over the last 30 years develop QPR’s Community Trust into one of the finest community programmes
in the country.

Their work with the local community has been groundbreaking and through events such as the
Grenfell Tower fire, the death of Kiyan Prince and Covid-19 lockdown, the work they have done has brought the club
closer to the community it represents.

“Congratulations, Andy, you deserve all the accolades for all the hard work over the years that you and your team do on
behalf of the club and the community.”

Trust CEO Andy has overseen a range of transformative initiatives during his time at QPR, including the expansion of our
Premier League Kicks programme, disability inclusion schemes, and projects addressing modern societal challenges.

His dedication has not only strengthened ties between the club and the community but also created opportunities for
many individuals to thrive and succeed.

The entire QPR family would like to congratulate Andy on this incredible achievement and thank him for his unwavering
service and commitment.'
