Well Done to Paul Furlong & his Team Last Night...

Post by Steve Russell »

Make no mistake this was a very good team performance against
a very good Burnley side.

We had the best of the opening 15 mins or so but then the visitors began
to grow into the game.

But the R's fought back & could well have taken the lead in the latter stages
of the half with Emmerson Sutton clipping the post & Kieran Morgan having
a powerful strike stopped etc Ht: 0-0.

We took the lead from the penalty spot when Harry Murphy smashed the
ball into the roof of the net.

Rangers had a number of chances to increase the lead & it came in the 6th
minute of added time when Kieran Petrie found himself in acres of space
in the box & fired home.

A well deserved victory in front of nearly 1,000 fans.

We await the outcome of the other semi this evening, Hounslow v Southampton.

Shepperd, Putman, Da Silva, McDowell, Wilkie, Tuck, Bennie,
Morgan, Kolli, Murphy, Sutton.
Subs: Halliday, Dillon, Leahy, O'Brien, Petrie

I understand that trialist Alex Wilkie is set to sign a permanent deal.

Well done to the Club. We needed to field a strong side if we were going to beat Burnley
(They are a tough Dev Squad set up) and we did just that. Excellent team selection in my view.

Let us hope we can get a home venue for the final. We can win this trophy. Give the supporters something
to cheer about.
