Re: So it's Goodbye to Marti...

I am basically a Marti Fan but none the less the above comments by Essex and Steveqpr881 are perfectly valid.

According to some reports Marti wanted to employ a specialist defensive coach (set Pieces) which was blocked by our
CEO and also he wanted the Performance and Fitness guru to be based in the UK not Dubai.

Not unreasonable requests. Why the row :?: This obviously has led on to the current state of affairs.

Of course there may be other underlying factors at work who knows but the bottom line is we are throwing stability
out of the window...and furthermore is anyone better going to want to come here?

Marti Cifuentes will be taking one hell of a gamble by leaving West London for the West Midlands,
WBA have very impatient owners and to sack Tony Mowbray the way they did less than 3 months into his contract
was very surprising to say the least.

Put it this way Cifuentes will not be afforded the time at WBA that he was given at QPR, the poor runs this season as well
as last season would normally have seen a manager sacked. His remit was to keep us in the Championship and he has
delivered in fairness.

If he does get the WBA gig he will be under immense pressure from day one, he won’t feel the warmth he received from the
QPR faithful after a couple of losses.

Unlike many supporters I won’t be too disappointed if he departs, we have been very poor, inconsistent and have been very
boring to watch. I have seen very little improvement if any at QPR since Mark Warburton departed.

Our football club is an absolute basket case of a football club, previously it was rumored Ferdinand/Warburton didn’t get on.
Now supporters are talking about Nourry/Cifuentes not getting on, a serious lack of professionalism is a big concern for QPR
supporters everywhere.

When you think the club are considering new contracts for Cook, Colback and Fox it beggars belief, these players have been
injury prone and their best years are way behind them. Time to let them go and move on.

As always at QPR the silence from the club is deafening.

Some fair points from Kerrins & Tommy.
I too have been a fan of Marti, but the performances have been woeful at times.
The rumours of behind-the-scenes disagreements are worrying and, if true, have to be taken into account.
And of course, we have to ask (as always) - who would we end up with if he goes?
Could be a case of 'out of the frying pan, into the fire.'
It's never a dull moment at Rangers!

Steveqpr881...Hmm what's the word I'm looking for to sum up this situation....Untenable. That's it

Or maybe some would prefer impasse

Steve let’s be honest about it mate the vast majority of QPR supporters, had never heard of
Marti Cifuentes before he landed in W12.

Cifuentes is a coach that has previously worked in Denmark and Sweden, hardly prestigious leagues
with top clubs and players.

The very least I expect from any current or new manager of QPR, is to keep us in the Championship
and quite comfortably at that.

Since Cifuentes was appointed we have had some awful runs and some woeful performances, the team at
times has been unbalanced and his team selections baffling to say the least. I won’t comment on his
substitutions because I struggled to understand them at times.

Marti Cifuentes should be grateful for the opportunity given to him by QPR, at the same time should be
commended for keeping our Championship status. If he does indeed depart QPR I wish him the very best of
luck going forward, the grass is not always greener as they say.

Christian Nourry is gonna come under some severe pressure from the R’s support should Cifuentes depart, he
is a very young man in the CEO role at the club. I think his inexperience has been very evident at times this season,
in fact he has looked out of his depth and this has been to the detriment of the club and the supporters.

I think it’s time for the club to come out now and issue a statement to the supporters, the uncertainty surrounding
the manager, players contracts etc. has been shambolic to say the least.

You are right Tommy when you say that Nourry will come under severe pressure from the R's support
should Cifuentes depart.

This is just a matter of when not if he eventually goes in my opinion. If the West Brom project falls through
for him there is oceans of time during the close season to fix up another position. UK or abroad.

We can all have intricate opinions re the pros and cons of Marti.....but what is not in doubt he is a big step up
from Critchley and Ainsworth for sure

Yep certainly an urgent statement from the Club needed.

It is the silence which is baffling. Does the Club think we will forget everything that has gone on recently
and get on with it?!

Much clamouring for O’Neil but fortunately odds on for Norwich. I just don’t think his record is that wonderful
and littered with bad runs. Also it would be another Ainsworth type appointment because he is connected with
the club.

If MC is going why no announcement?

I agree his team selections and substitutions have been baffling unless there had been interference from above or
clauses in contracts demanding players have to play.

A very messy situation at the moment and if MC goes to WBA it will be out of the frying pan into the fire.

The Club statement...

'Martí Cifuentes has been placed on gardening leave.

Assistant coaches Kevin Betsy and Xavi Calm will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis
and prepare the squad for our final fixture of the 2024/25 campaign against Sunderland.

CEO Christian Nourry said: “This is naturally a disappointing situation for everyone concerned.

“I fully understand and appreciate supporters’ frustrations at this time.

“As a club, we are working to ensure this matter is resolved as swiftly as possible so we can start preparations
in earnest for the future.”

A few random thoughts on the whole situation:
* Ok, he kept us up last season, thanks for that Marti; but at times this season, we've been woeful.

* On on of the Facebook groups, somebody reckons that Sean Derry said that Marti & his reps have
been speaking to other Clubs since last September.

I know that's a case of 'he said, he said' - don't know if it's true.
* Did he go because he's pished off with Noury/ the fitness guy working from Dubai / lack of funds etc etc?
Or is he just ambitious, looking for a better opportunity? Again, we don't know.

I'd say that Marti isn't one of our greater managers & after this season's rollercoaster ride (I'm still feeling
sick ;) ) I won't be heartbroken to see him go. All I'm worried about is, who do we get to replace him?
