Gonna take QPR years to recover from Les Ferdinand’s term as DOF

Post by Tommy Cunningham »

The level of incompetence of our ex DOF is still affecting us even though he has departed, sub standard
and injury prone players on long contracts will continue to pull the club down. The standard of players, managers
and coaches brought to the club, has been poor and the board should have recognized this a lot earlier.

The board and CEO must take full responsibility for this, if our ex DOF was being judged on performance he
should have been dismissed some years ago. This season is gonna be a long season, we have a very poor squad and
it will be a struggle.

Heard today that Fernandez has stepped down.

You are right Tommy this season will be one long hard struggle. Ainsworth's journeymen will
find it difficult. This is not being critical of Gareth.

Although not one of the most sophisticated of Managers he gives it 100% and is a decent bloke and
I am sure he will get the best out of what we have got or will get in.

The promotion boat under the last 15 months of Warburton's reign and then Beale's tenure (top remember)
has long since sailed and will be some time returning to the shores of Loftus Road.

I hope R's fans realize this and not start complaining when we are nowhere near pushing for a play off
place this season.

I was never convinced by Beale when he was manager, remember he lost 5 consecutive games before
he took his integrity and respect to Glasgow.

Never played or managed at any level and was full of bullshit, went to Scotland in a 2 team league and
didn’t have any success there which didn’t surprise me. Fully expecting him to be found out sooner rather than
later in Glasgow.

Gareth Ainsworth is really gonna be up against it this season, he has come to a club with an extremely poor
squad and very little ambition. There have been no foundations laid by previous management or the ex DOF,
the new training ground is an excellent facility where the supporters played their part in helping the club build this.

I can’t remember a season where so many of our supporters, are feeling so negative before a ball has even been
kicked competitively. Very little news or snippets of information about new players joining, 2 players have
departed for fees and 2 players have joined for free. It really sums up where we are as a club today.

We have to be patient with Ainsworth and give this man a chance, there are gonna be a lot of challenges ahead
and supporters have to accept this. I know that is not what any QPR supporter wants to hear, but unfortunately
it is where we are and it will probably get a lot worse before it gets better.

Yes Tommy Gareth faces a very difficult task for the reasons you have outlined
As you say QPR Supporters will have to be patient but I fear a large section wont be!

Very true. Let's hope that Gaz makes a few shrewd signings, maybe the season won't be too bad.....

Hopefully we will see a few more players departing soon, which will in turn give Gareth Ainsworth
the opportunity of recruiting some players of his choice. With Dieng, Dickie and Balogun already gone
and the possibility of Chair, Willock, Dykes and Field departing, a massive rebuild looks a distinct possibility
at QPR this season.

Could be a good thing for the club, on the other hand it might not be.

Change has been needed at the club for years, so hopefully Gareth Ainsworth will be given the help and support
he will need going forward.

We are now seeing the legacy left behind by Les Ferdinand, barring a couple of players who played
yesterday he brought the rest of players to QPR.

What is worrying is that the poor individual and team performances continue from last season and
we have a far weaker squad. Any acquisitions seem to be not match fit or injured so the prospects are bleak.
We will be adding to the list of undesirable records we hold with possibly the lowest ever Championship
points total at this rate.

Why have we never addressed the need for up front goal scorers and a midfielder capable of influencing
the game and scoring goals? I would have thought it should have been something Les should have
understood and addressed but for some reason any money we have had as been frittered away on so so,
mainly injured, signings.

When we have always been strong in these area in the past why was it allowed to happen?!
