QPR FC Women continued their pre-season campaign on Thursday evening, battling out a 2-2 draw
with Dulwich Hamlet at Heston. Strikes from Kasha Petit and a trialist secured a share of the spoils for the
Super Hoops, as the start of the 2023/24 campaign edges ever closer.
Under the lights at Rangers’ west London training base, it was the visitors who started bright – with R’s
stopper Mya Francis-Pownall doing well to deny our south London visitors.
However, Dulwich’s early pressure would soon pay dividends as Brit Saylor slotted home a penalty kick
in the 25th minute.
Despite going behind, Steve Quashie’s side grew in confidence with Petit’s fine work rewarded with the
second spot kick of the evening.
The experienced attacker would ultimately step up and convert from 12-yards – ensuring that Rangers
would go into the break level.
Following the interval, Rangers had defender Georgie Lewin to thank with her last ditched block denying
the visitors from close range.
This would only spur the Super Hoops on with Katie Akerman and one of our trialists both rattling the
woodwork with dangerous looking efforts.
Rangers would ultimately make the break through 15 minutes from time, with one of our trialists calmly
slotting home.
However, the R’s would be denied victory when Saylor converted five minutes later, with hers and Dulwich’s
second of the evening.
