Stoke - Just Back....

Post by Steve Russell »

A minutes applause for the legendary Terry Venables pre-match & Marti walked
onto the pitch to lay some flowers on the centre-circle.

A bonkers match that had pretty much everything :D
Some poor defending at times but Lyndon converted his penalty well.

We were moving the ball forward quicker down the flanks but Stoke applied pressure
on us & it wasn't a surprise when they equalised.

Lots of attempts on goal, the most for God knows how long & Ilias hit the post
with a fine drive.

The Stoke players lost it & Mr Lingington continued to show them yellows & one resulted
in a red.

Stoke battled on & took the lead whilst down to ten.

Superb goal from Lyndon when he chested the ball down, turned and fired it into the
net. Marti said pre-match that he has goals in him, lets hope that this will be the case.
Lyndon also did well heading away a number of corners.

Great support from the faithful.

Singing down South Africa Rd, singing at White City Station.
Singing on the train & singing coming out the Station

Well done Marti & the team.

What a night :D

The only thing that mattered last night was the 3 points we got for the win, it was a tough game where
we for once got some breaks and scored some goals. I don’t want to get too carried away but it was very
evident with the supporters, how much that win meant and for once this season we could have scored
more goals.

A big well done to Marti Cifuentes last night, he made the changes he felt necessary and they were effective.

Unfortunately some of the defending left a lot to be desired, but when you have been as woeful as we have,
scoring 4 goals at home and getting a much needed win is all that matters.

Since Cifuentes has walked through the door, we appear to have a game plan and there has been improvement.

Hopefully we can move forward and start climbing the league table.

Chris Hewitt put this up on our Facebook group....

' 8 months 17 days. Or 37 weeks 3 days. Or 262 days.
That’s how long we’ve waited to see us win at home.

It wasn’t perfect, we know that. To go 2-1 down when playing against 10 men is so QPR -ish.
I personally couldn’t see us coming back from behind with 20 minutes to go.

Our two best chances first half were from very poor mistakes by Stoke players which we failed to
capitalise on. One of which saw Stoke go up the other end and eventually equalise .

Fair play to Marti for ringing the changes when he did as it appeared to improve us as a team,
which is what subs are for. When Chair hit the post I thought it wasn’t going to be but fair play to
the players.

A minute later Dykes scores a blinder then Larkeche conjures up something from
nothing with Chris Willock putting the icing on the cake. I

t’s been a long wait which Paul Morrissey summed up superbly over the P.A. after the game with
“ QPR 4 Stoke City 2, thank you for your support and thank you for your patience “!!!

It’s a start, roll on Friday.'

Just 17 points off a play-off spot.

Just when we thought we might be leaving the Championship in a downward direction, it turns out
we were departing upwardly the whole time.

There you go now…good old QPR…plot twist up the sleeve the whole time.
