Good to see Deon Woodman get 65 mins game time.
From the Club...

PR Development Squad had to settle for a point amid difficult conditions against
Swansea City Under-21s on Monday afternoon.

Despite both sides threatening, the game remained goalless in South Wales.
The R's continue to top Professional Development League Two South.

Facing a strong Swansea side which included a number of first-team players, the opening
exchanges were even – with the hosts creating the first chance on 10 minutes.

Sam Parker threatened down the right, only for his cross to be hacked away from danger
by Deon Woodman.

With 17 minutes on the clock, Harry Murphy fashioned Rangers’ first effort.
He saw his deflected shot dip wide of the post, before Henry Hawkins flicked over from
close range from the resultant corner kick.

QPR's Kieran Petrie was next to test the Swansea backline, but his strike was tame and ultimately
comfortable for Nathan Broome in the hosts' goal.

Just short of the half-hour mark, Rangers' Alfie Lloyd had the ball in the back of the net after he
finished Micah Anthony’s cross, but celebrations were quickly muted as the linesman's flag was
raised for offside.

Swansea threatened late on in the first half, with Parker again troubling, but this time Kayden Harrack
was on hand to cut out any danger.

Following the break, Paul Furlong’s R's started on the front foot. Harrack tested Broome in the City goal.

However, it wasn’t all one-way traffic with R’s keeper Harry Cant being called into action –
denying Cameron Congreve with a fine save.

The troublesome Parker later rattled the post for the Swans, but as we reached the closing stages it was
Furlong’s side who looked most likely to break the deadlock. Substitute Joseph Ajose probed down the
right, before Murphy’s dangerous centre was hacked away by the hosts.

That was the last of the goalmouth action as both sides left with a point.

QPR Development Squad are next in action in the new year as we face Ipswich Town U21s at their training
centre in early January.

QPR: Cant, Harrack (Trialist 71), Woodman (Rendall 65), Hawkins, Shann, Sackey, Talla, Murphy, Anthony,
Petrie (Ajose 65), Lloyd (Jeche 54).

And welcome back to Trent Rendall after that awful injury early in the year.
From the Club...

'FOLLOWING a spell on the side lines, defender Trent Rendall was pleased to get some minutes under his
belt in our goalless draw with Swansea City Under-21s on Monday afternoon.

Despite being part of the first team squad which toured Austria last summer, Rendall has since been
out of action with a return to Paul Furlong’s side a welcome one for the 22-year-old.

Speaking following our clash in South Wales, Rendall explained just how good it felt to be back in action.

“It was nice to get a spell back on the pitch, the centre-half told www.qpr.co.uk. “Hopefully I can go
from strength to strength now and have a successful new year.

“Obviously I haven’t been involved a huge amount this season because of the injury but the lads have done
really well, the spirits are really high and we are going into matches full of confidence which is what you
always aim for.”

The R’s battled out a goalless draw with the Swans on Monday, wrapping up what has been a strong 2023 –
with the young Super Hoops heading into the festive period sitting top of the Professional Development
League Two South table.

Rendall added: “We are a tight knit team, we are top of the league and the boys did well.
We were competitive in all areas of the field, we kept the ball, we battled and we had a few chances on goal
but we just couldn’t get that ball to stick.

“Christmas will now be a nice time to rest, spend time with our families but also reflect on what has been a
strong start to the season for us.

“I enjoyed being in around the first team and getting that experience but I have learnt what I need to do to be
able to bridge the gap between the Dev squad and the first team.”

Furlong’s table-topping R’s are now back in action in early January, as we travel to Ipswich Town Under-21s.'
