'YOUNG goalkeeper Matteo Salamon has agreed a new deal with QPR.

The 20-year-old, who has been with the club since he was 11 and signed his first pro contract in 2022,
says he is eager to continue his development, having trained day in, day out with the first team during the
last season.

“I am over the moon,” said the Brazilian-born stopper.

“I have been at this club for a long time and it is an amazing feeling to stay.

“I feel like I have developed like crazy. The people at this club have been amazing, every age group has taken
me in and told me where I need to get better.

“I feel I have improved in leaps and bounds.”

Salamon believes his regular contact with the first team has been a huge advantage in terms of his growth,
explaining: “It is so beneficial.

“When I first trained with them two years ago it was tough. Last year was the first year I trained with them
regularly and it’s challenging because they are all technically such strong players.

“But by training with them so often, it has enabled me to slow the game down in my head and gives me more
confidence when I play.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming campaign, Salamon is targeting continued growth.

“I want to keep improving, get as many games under my belt as I can and show my character,” he said.

“I am really looking forward to it.”

an increased exposure to the first-team environment in the last six months."
