Sinclair Armstrong off to Bristol City

Post by Tommy Cunningham »

It’s being reported through media outlets in Bristol tonight that, Sinclair Armstrong is in transfer talks with Bristol City. #
A fee has been agreed and only personal terms and a medical to negotiate required to complete the deal.

I never thought that Armstrong would be a regular figure in the R’s line up, but more of a squad player and he has
impressed from the bench many times in the past. Good luck to him if he does move on.

Had the pace ok but could easily be bullied off the ball and spent half the game appealing for fouls and being offside.
Unfortunately not a goal scorer and his pace meant we did not get players up in support most of the time.
Not sure if he received specific coaching but there were few signs of improvement I’m afraid.

I always enjoyed watching him. Thought he had a good physical side to his game.
Yes, he needed further development, but isn't that what coaching is supposed to do??
Still, those on the inside obviously know him better than we do -his potential & his limits.

If a decent fee has been agreed with Bristol City and he wishes to leave so be it.

He always gave his all and had power and pace but goal and scorer sadly were rarely in the lexicon. If we replace
him with a player that can hit the back of the net more often then I am quite happy about the situation.

Pace and power were his obvious strengths, but his first touch was poor and a natural goal scorer he most certainly isn’t.

Coaches can only work on so much with players, good strikers are born with an instinct to find themselves in the right
place at the right time to score goals. Sinclair Armstrong certainly didn’t fall into that category.
