No idea why they have to play the same night as the 1st team
Report from the Club...
'QPR Development Squad had to settle for a share of the spoils with Colchester United Under-21s on Tuesday
evening.
Having trailed early in the first half, Rayan Kolli’s 64th-minute effort would wrap up a 1-1 draw in this
Premier League Cup clash.
Fresh from our stunning 3-2 comeback victory over the U’s just a fortnight ago, the R’s started this one
bright, rattling the crossbar just 13 minutes in.
However, it would be the hosts who would take the lead midway through the first half - Elkanah Akor finding
a Trialist who slotted home.
The Super Hoops would look for an instant response, but Colchester would have keeper Harrison Chamberlain
to thank, with some super action denying Rangers – ensuring we continued to trail at the break.
Paul Furlong’s side would start the second half brightly, threatening throughout the early exchanges and were
eventually rewarded in the 64th minute with Kolli converting.
Having drawn level, Rangers would push for the elusive winner, rattling the bar again 15 minutes from time,
before forcing Chamberlain into action once again.
But, both sides ultimately had to settle for a share of the points.
QPR Dev Squad are back in action on Monday 28th October, facing the short trip to Wheatsheaf Park to face Brentford
Under-21s in the Professional Development League Two South – kick-off 7pm.
QPR: Trialist, Putman, McDowell, McCann, Shann, Tarbotton, Aoraha, Petrie, Murphy, Bennie, Kolli.
Subs: Clark, Leahy, Hassan, Manufor, Neill.'
