Good assertive start, the players were certainly up for it.
20 mins in & Kenneth Paal hit the crossbar.
But the visitors took the lead against the run of play & not only that
Steve Cook went down with what looked like a serious ankle injury?
Eventually a stretcher was brought on, which could have been used but he still
needed to be carefully helped off. Obviously hope that it isn't as bad at
it looked!
Phil Parkes was interviewed at ht, good to see him back at HQ again.
Into the 2nd half & well done to Paul Smyth when he cut the ball back
to a well-placed Rayan Kolli to pull the trigger.
We were up on our feet to celebrate Sam Field giving us the lead but
somehow he put the ball wide of the target from close range.
Despite the pressure, it looked as if if we were never going to secure the winner.
Paul Smyth's shot bounced off the top of the bar & the keeper made an amazing
double-save.
Then, Liam Lindsay was sent off & Loftus Rd erupted in the 89th minute when
Ilias Chair's cross was met by a diving Jimmy Dunne
Great celebrations followed & we are now up to 14th.
Well done Paul Smyth, Kieran Morgan was superb etc etc etc
