Bristol City ran out 2-1 winners over QPR at the Robins High Performance Centre.
Goals from Billy Phillips and Ephraim Yeboah saw City come from a goal behind to secure victory
for the Young Robins.
Kieran Petrie struck for the visitors in the 37th minute before City bagged two second-half goals to
complete their comeback.
Josey Casa-Grande was forced into action in the ninth minute, making a good stop down to his left to
deny Harry Murphy.
Ten minutes later City’s shot-stopper was in action again, this time denying Petrie who had the better of
City’s defenders.
A good moment came for City when Max Davies picked out the run of Phillips, but he was just beaten to
the ball by Matteo Salamon.
Phillip Sanyaolu dragged his effort from inside the area before Olly Thomas and Jaiden Foxwell combined at
the other end, and Thomas struck wide from outside the box.
QPR struck first in the 37th minute as Alfie Tuck found Petrie who volleyed into the back of the net from
close range.
City made a half-time substitution which would see Tim Ap Sion replaced by Jack Griffin.
The Young Robins took a more direct approach in the second half and within moments of the restart had Rovers
turned with Phillips running in behind and forcing Salamon to be quick off his line.
City made a triple change in the 64th minute, with Tom Chaplin, Elijah Morrison, and Sheppard replacing Foxwell,
Taylor-Clarke and Jed Meerholz.
Jake Leahy looked to have doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 71st minute but was denied by the linesman’s flag.
Moments later, City levelled the score after Phillips capitalised on a defensive error and calmly slotted the ball past
the keeper from close range.
The Young Robins completed their comeback in the 89th minute after another fumble at the back saw Phillips find
Yeboah inside the area who finished well.
