I have just come across this news article online written for the French newspaper Le Parisien dated 17 June 2025.
Julien Stephan's arrival at Queens Park Rangers is soon to be made official.
It has been almost 10 days since it was reported that there were advanced contacts between Julien Stephan,
free since his departure from Rennes in November 2024, and Queens Park Rangers, 15th in the Championship (English D2).
Since then, discussions have continued to move in the right direction, so much so that as of today (17 June) nothing
seems to stand in the way of official agreement. "Were in the home straight" we are told.
According to our information, the English club is just waiting to finalize the break with the former coach , the Spaniard
Marti Cifuentes, before making the arrival of the 44 year old French technicien. official.
This will be Stephan's 3rd club as head coach after Rennes (twice) and Strasbourg. With the Bretons he won the 2009
Coup de France against PSG.
Please don't shoot the messenger, just thought it would be interesting to get a French perceptive on the situation.
