Welcome to the R's.....or as Del Boy would say 'Bonjour'
From the Club.....

'ALOU Diarra has joined QPR as First Team Coach as part of Julien Stéphan’s backroom team.

Diarra notably represented Lens, Bordeaux and Marseille in Ligue 1 as a player, as well as making 44 appearances
for the France national team, which included a World Cup final appearance against Italy in 2006.

He also spent time in England with West Ham and Charlton.

As a coach, he has worked with Lens and Troyes.

“It is a pleasure to be here and part of a new, exciting project with QPR,” Diarra said.

“Working with players in the Championship, a very tough league, is very exciting. We will be working hard to
develop them and improve them.”

Explaining his connection with Stéphan, Diarra said: “We have a good relationship.

“When I was assistant coach with RC Lens I came up against Julien. It was always tough! Tactically he is very strong, so
it was never easy against his teams.”

Diarra’s philosophy on how he likes football to be played matches Stéphan’s and the club’s, explaining: “The game model
is quite similar to the City Football Group project, which I was part of at Troyes – same idea, same philosophy, and this is
important because it makes it easier for me to integrate here because I know the principles.”

As Diarra looks to settle in at QPR, he will be hoping to use his knowledge as a player to get the best out of the R’s squad.

He made 44 appearances in the Championship for Charlton between 2015 and 2016, and he explained:
“I want to share my experiences with the players to help them.

“I know with this league you have to be consistent and play to create chances so we have to build principles. It is a tough
league but I hope I can help this young team to develop.

“The squad here has great potential. We must work hard to be better every day, step by step. I have a good feeling for this
team and I am excited for the season to start. This pre-season will be very important."

CEO Christian Nourry said: “We are delighted to welcome Alou as Julien’s assistant.

“We are confident that Alou can bring the experience he gathered from his fantastically-successful playing career as well as
his coaching expertise to improve us as a football club.”
