Welcome to the Rangers & good luck...
From the Club...
'AMADOU Mbengue has completed a permanent transfer to QPR from Reading following the expiry
of his contract.
The centre-back will officially join the club on July 1st.
The 23-year-old comes to W12 after three seasons with the Royals, where he made 109 appearances in all
competitions, including 26 Championship outings during 2022/23.
Prior to his time in Berkshire, Mbengue played his football with Metz in Ligue 1 – now he is ready for his next
adventure in English football.
“I am happy to be here and ready to work,” said Mbengue, who had a host of Championship clubs chasing his
signature.
“I was talking with Christian (Nourry, CEO) and the idea and the project he has for the club is very, very good.
We are on the same page and that is why I chose QPR. They have a lot of objectives for the future.”
Mbengue, who has represented Senegal at U23 level, has a reputation for being a big character, and he said he
takes his football seriously – but makes sure he has fun too.
“I enjoy the game and I enjoy life,” he said. “After a game when we win, I’m here to enjoy it with the fans.
I think it's important to make them happy.
“I'm excited to meet the fans and to take my first steps in Loftus Road.”
CEO Christian Nourry said: “Amadou brings pace, power, defensive nous and an infectious personality to the
first-team squad, as well as EFL experience.
“We are pleased that he has chosen QPR to take his next step.”
