Now confirmed by the Club...

'MARTÍ Cifuentes and Xavi Calm have joined Leicester City as First Team Manager and Assistant Manager
respectively.

Cifuentes left QPR by mutual consent last month following a period of gardening leave. As part of the
agreement, the club retained compensation rights for any future employment.

This matter has now been concluded with Leicester City.

Calm, who joined QPR in November 2023 with Cifuentes, will now reunite with him at King Power Stadium.

Calm said: “It’s time for me to say goodbye to this great club.

“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity given to me by the Board and I have really enjoyed working with this
staff and these players.

“I’ve felt appreciated by the club and the fans since day one.

“Thank you for your support throughout this journey. I’ll always carry QPR in my heart and wish the club nothing
but success in the future – You R’s!”

CEO Christian Nourry, who previously spoke of Cifuentes’s departure, said: “I want to thank Xavi for his relentless
commitment to the football club, supporting other staff and players with aplomb throughout his time here.

“Beyond that, he is a brilliant and kind person. I wish him success in his next adventure.”

Three year deal?
From the FLW site.....

'Ex-Queens Park Rangers head coach Marti Cifuentes is set to make a return to management with newly-relegated
Championship side Leicester City, and he will reportedly contribute half of the compensation figure that is due to
his former club.

Prior to his departure this summer, Cifuentes had been in charge of QPR since October 2023, and he successfully kept
the club in the Championship for two consecutive seasons, leading them to 18th and 15th-placed finishes respectively.

It was a relatively underwhelming season for the R's last term, but their campaign ended in dramatic fashion when
Cifuentes was placed on gardening leave ahead of the final game after his representatives held talks with West Bromwich
Albion over their vacant managerial position.

As it turned out, Cifuentes was not on the Baggies' shortlist of candidates, but there was no way back for him at QPR,
and his exit was officially confirmed last month, with ex-Rennes and Strasbourg manager Julien Stephan replacing him
at Loftus Road.

It looked as though Cifuentes would be without a club going into the new season, but he is now believed to be
close to taking over at Leicester, and Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has revealed that the Foxes have agreed a
compensation fee of £500,000 with the Hoops, with half of that figure being paid by the Spaniard.

And now that a compensation figure has been agreed, the only obstacle to his appointment being confirmed is his visa,
which could not be processed over the weekend.

Despite Leicester's well-documented financial issues and the prospect of a points deduction after the club were
charged by the Premier League for breaching profit and sustainability rules.

It was reported last week that the 43-year-old is prepared to take a pay cut, as well as contributing to the
compensation fee owed to QPR.

Cifuentes is said to be willing to pay half of the £500,000 fee due to his former club, meaning he may need to fork
out as much as £250,000.

Cifuentes' reputation took a little bit of a hit during QPR's below-par campaign last season, and he came in
for criticism due to the acrimonious nature of his exit from Loftus Road, with some accusing him of being disrespectful
for eyeing a move away from the club while still under contract.

With that in mind, it would have been understandable if some Leicester supporters had reservations about the
appointment of Cifuentes, but his willingness to contribute £250,000 out of his own pocket towards the
compensation fee due to his former employers is an impressive display of commitment.

Despite the off-field challenges the club are facing, Cifuentes appears to be excited about the project at the
King Power Stadium, and that should help him to form an instant bond with Foxes supporters.'
