QPR Women & Development Squad in Singapore...

Post by Steve Russell »

From the Club...

'SUNDAY saw the climax to the Soccer7sSeries in Singapore.

QPR Development Squad and QPR FC Women were all involved, representing Rangers well in the latter
stages of the three-day seven-a-side pre-season tournament.

There was an all-QPR affair in the Women’s semi-finals as ‘QPR Women’ and ‘QPR Hoops’ came head to head,
with the Hoops prevailing thanks to goals from Libby Doyle and Grace Stanley.

They ultimately had to settle for second, though, as Shanghai Shenhua Women ran out 2-0 winners in the final.

Earlier in the day the Development Squad had also proudly bowed out.

A breathless quarter-final with Hashtag United saw four goals shared – Fraser Neill and Jaiden Putman scoring
the R’s – before Jake Leahy’s golden goal in 4v4 extra-time secured a semi-final spot in dramatic fashion.

They came up against Corinthians in the final four, who edged a tightly-contested affair by a solitary goal.

All three R’s teams return to London on Monday, heading home with their heads held high after a memorable
stay in south east Asia.

Sunday’s results
QPR HOOPS 2-0 QPR WOMEN
Hashtag United 2-3 QPR DEV SQUAD (AET)
QPR DEV SQUAD 0-1 Corinthians
Shanghai Shenhua Women 2-0 QPR HOOPS
