Good luck to our U18's tonight.
From the Club....
'YOUNG attacker Philip Sanyaolu has described his excitement as QPR's Under-18s get set to welcome
their counterparts from non-league Oxford City in round three of the FA Youth Cup tonight
(Wednesday, kick-off 7pm).
Winger Sanyaolu - who has also been involved with our Development Squad this season - was part of the
side that took Arsenal to penalties in the fourth round of the competition last season.
Speaking ahead of this evening's game - which is live on QPR+ - he said: "It's obviously very exciting to
play at Loftus Road again.
"We'll have a lot of fans coming and our parents, family too. I think it's a good experience - a good
opportunity for us to showcase ourselves in the first-team environment.
"There's a lot of buzz. There's a buzz around the changing room for the game. Everyone's up for it.
"Obviously, they're (Oxford City) going to be a good side because they've reached round three, so we
have to respect them, respect how they play and take the game to them.
"We must stay humble."
Rangers overcame Swindon Town at MATRADE Loftus Road in the third round last term.
"It was a good game," Phil said. "There were a lot of fans.
"I didn't actually expect that many fans to come! But it was a very good experience.
"And then, to top that off, Arsenal away last year - it was even better. We were a bit unlucky on the
night, but I feel like it's kind of motivated us to try even harder and get into the latter stages of the
competition."
QPR's Under-18s group for this season includes a number of players who have graduated from our U16s.
"I think we're doing well, we're improving game by game," Sanyaolu said. "We had a bit of a rocky start,
but I feel like we're starting to get a flow now.
"I feel like we've now gelled together quite well. It feels more like a family than it was a couple of months
ago."
For Sanyaolu, personally, he has also been in goalscoring action for our Dev Squad in recent weeks, too.
"The past six weeks, I've been playing regularly for the Dev Squad," he explained. "I feel like I've found my
feet now and I'm starting to show that in my performances.
"It just feels like an honour to be able to be pushed this far. It feels like I'm doing something really positive.
"There's a lot of academy graduates involved with the first team now, and it's given us real hope that we can
make it at the club. It gives us all motivation to keep trying hard."
Entrance at MATRADE Loftus Road tonight is just £3.'
