Great fight back today - Well done lads

Post by Tommy Cunningham »

I never thought for one moment we would recover from being 2-0 down, but all credit to the team
for getting a hard earned point. When I saw the team before the game, I will be brutally honest
and say I feared the worst. Going away to a difficult venue with a makeshift team, we were always
gonna be up against it.

But all credit to the team for hanging in there, if Albert Adomah and Lyndon Dykes had converted
the early chances they both had it may have been different.

We scored 2 great goals today and showed great character, I know it’s a long season and we must
improve but we didn’t lose.

Great goal
Found this from October 2020 so was he the first?
Goalkeeper Tom Middlehurst scored from inside his own penalty area for loan club Wantage Town
in Saturday's 3-2 win over Thame United.

The former Cheltenham Town scholar, who is on loan at Wantage from QPR, did not celebrate
the goal, which came in only the fifth appearance of his senior career.
