Burnley game

Dismal game to match the weather!
We played like a team with no Manager.

Why were we without Johansen, Balogun and Willock for half a game. Injured?
Why start a player who obviously is not Championship quality (Thomas).
If you take Willock off and you are playing without Chair and Johansen
where is the creativity coming from?
Subs were described as tactical in commentary.

The game had a pre-season look for us with strange starting line up and substitutions
and we did not press or unsettle them in the first half.

Has a new manager been agreed and he needed to see fringe players? It certainly
looked that way.

Just looked at the Offy report. Amos, Johansen and Balogun had knocks.
What do they do in training?!

Just back, not going to gloss over proceedings but just caught the Sky Sports summary,
1st goal from the free kick, looked like a dive at the time & just seen that he was
indicating to Peter Bankes that he wasn't fouled!!!

Lyondon mostly totally isolated, flicking on the ball to a non-existent
team-mate!

Good to meet up with Francis Peacock pre-match,
to pick up a copy of his new book: 'QPR: The Road to '76'
hope sales were good for him today..

Attendance given as 14,299?
Counted in must been the numerous fans that couldn't
make it to the game...

Paul Hall on why Chris Willock was taken off, via Dave Mc for West London Sport,

Willock, who missed a great chance to equalise when his team trailed 1-0,
was not injured, with Hall simply keen to switch to a 4-3-3 formation.

Hall explained: “It was tactical. I think it was justified, because what
we wanted to do was not be so narrow."

There was that very early penalty decision that went against us....but after that What?
As usual we had nothing up front and in attack and would never have scored if we had played all week.

Burnley are superior to us in every aspect and like I said months ago its two from three for
Automatic Promotion. Burnley Sheff Utd and Norwich. None the less we put in a dismal performance.

The new manager has a big job on his hands. I hope he can unearth even a half decent
striker/forward in January.

It always fascinates me that Dykes spends most of the match flicking the occasional long ball on to the
invisible centre forward ahead of him to not go on and put the ball in the net. :D
As a club we seem to go several seasons before we find a replacement for the likes of Ferdinand and Austin
leaving the club.

There must be players in the lower divisions capable of being turned in to a reasonably productive
goalscorer who will also occupy opposition defences.
With goals coming from Chair and Willock anything over 15 goals would be a bonus.
