Shameful performance tonight
An abysmal performance tonight, bullied all over the park and have to say most of
he players looked disinterested.
Dieng has looked very hesitant at times this season, Dunne and Dickie were particularly awful tonight.
Shodipo should be nowhere near a QPR team in the Championship, has been given opportunities by
previous managers in the past and just isn’t good enough. His contract is up this summer, time for him to
ply his trade elsewhere.
Lyndon Dykes has to be the worst striker I can remember playing for QPR, zero technical ability, has the
touch of an elephant and he is one of the laziest professional footballers I have ever seen.
Please don’t give me that lack of service nonsense, he had 2 great opportunities tonight and scuffed them both.
Hopefully he will be in Glasgow soon with the “integrity and respect” bloke, he won’t be missed that’s for sure.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
I agree having watched on tv it was a truly awful performance.
To call Dykes a striker is an offence under the trade descriptions act!
He neither scores goals or creates chances and you might as well plant
a lamppost up front for all his movement.
Sit him down with a few videos
of Charlie Austin to show him how it is done! It is pointless getting your head
to a ball if you are on your own as you are flicking it on to the space you should be in!
We played like a nine man team with no forward line and this obsession with
midfielders is costing us big time.
I agree about Dieng and said it to Young Kerrins last night he gets beaten too many
times from outside the area and seems slow to react this season.
Dickie also is not the player he was.
With the inclusion of the likes of Shodipo I can only assume Critchley is assessing
everybody before we discard or hopefully sign replacements.
We need Johansen back to at least give a midfield presence.
Willock is either carrying an injury or is on his way as he is a shadow of the
player he was and plays better with Chair with him. Unfortunately illness
in the squad caught up with Chair last night to prevent that.
Time to play the youngsters who at least know that you need to score to win games.
Sheff United and Fleetwood must be rubbing their hands with glee if they are made
to watch a recording of that performance. We can only hope more players than
admitted were suffering with the bug.
The score board will be working overtime but not in our favour.

Great post Essex.
What concerned me more than anything, was the fact we were humiliated and bullied
on our own patch. There were no leaders in the team, there was no passion in the
team, players hiding out there and not wanting the ball. Unacceptable.
For all the praise that has been thrown his way this season, Tim Iroegbunam never
lifted a leg all game and I find that unacceptable. Players will have bad games from
time to time, but a lack of effort from a 19 year old player looking to establish
himself is not right.
I am not singling Iroegbunam out for criticism, as there were other poor performances on the night.
But I will never accept a lack of effort from any player wearing a QPR shirt.
In fairness to Kerrins he did say before a ball was kicked this season, with our lack of striking
options it would be a struggle. How right he was.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
There was an interesting comment on another Rs website in respect of our inability
to bounce back from a defeat. We seem to go, especially under Warburton, on six
match runs before we crawled out of the hole we had created.
It’s as if it is now part of the club make up or in our dna that we need to do it.
I just can’t imagine a Warnock team being allowed to do it so are we employing
the wrong type of manager now. They may be technically qualified but when the
proverbial hits the fan can they generate enough passion and desire in the team to
get out of the muck?
Under Warnock there was an ‘enforcer’ like Derry on the pitch to ensure heads did not drop.
We have no such player now to remind the other players to actually earn their crust.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
Neil Warnock was a great character and was great for QPR, unfortunately it was
another poor decision from above to sack him.
Warnock applied a real Yorkshire grit to the team, we had real men like Derry and Hill
who were leaders and set the standards. Since then it has been a case of poor recruitment, with
managers, coaches and players arriving and departing with great regularity.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
Yes we need the true Yorkshire grit and no airs and graces attitude that can
overcome the “I’m paid a fortune to not care attitude “ that modern players have.
Watched the Leeds match against Man City and the Leeds fans gave amazing
support no matter what the score and their players gave everything in effort.
The same cannot be said of some of our players.
NB. I come from Yorkshire blood so it is also in my dna!

Re: Shameful performance tonight
Its been obvious since day one at the start of the season that our strikers at Championship
level are woeful (I have been saying so all along) but we did at one stage have decent
organisation plus the midfield genius of Willock and Chair.
Sadly our organisation has now gone to pot and Willock and Chair have lost their mojo
and this combined with the dross up front has not left us with very much.
I do believe that the team can improve become better drilled than of late and that Willock
and Chair can regain their Mojo. However as for those strikers/front players forget it!
You cant get blood out of a stone. They would have trouble getting into most League one sides.
Football is about opinions of course but when over the hill strikers such as Austin and Gray
(who we released) are STILL superior to what we have at present this is bad news indeed.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
Great point regarding Gray and Austin, what should be said is it wasn’t
Warburton’s decision to release them.
He had already been handed his P45, when the decision to let them go was announced.
No vision, no forward planning, all points to no ambition and no hope.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
You can add Wells to the list of players we couldn’t afford to sign.
To not have an out and out goalscoring forward in the club is an appalling situation.
Do we not plan such situations when recruiting youngsters.
As Kerrins and I have often said any average lower league goal scoring forward
would be better than we have.
At least defences would have someone to occupy them and provide more
space for midfielders.

Re: Shameful performance tonight
We have a DOF who should be looking at least across Europe for players, if
other clubs can do it then why not QPR.
Always believed our scouting network is like our recruitment, extremely
poor and not fit for purpose.
