Watford Yesterday......

Post by Steve Russell »

Couldn't make it to the training ground in the morning but
told that the U18's had beaten Ipswich 5-3. Well done to them.

I hadn't seen him for a while but it was good to see Richard
from Perth again. See you at Wigan mate.

I have to say that I was really surprised to see Lyndon in the starting
line-up following his awful bout of pneumonia.

With four defenders still unavailable, Osman Kakay had to play
on the opposite flank again & Sam Field filled in as a third centre-back.
So it was a 5-2-3 formation.

Wild scenes followed Tim's goal. How well he took it.

One nervous moment in the 1st half was when Rob Dickie's back-pass
almost caught out Seny. But the R's keeper recovered in time!

Great to see Ale Faurlin introduced to the crowd at half-time.

Watford upped their game after the break but we defended well &
created some chances of our own.

How many foul-throws did Watford get away with!!!

At one point, R's fans chanted to Chris Wilder:
"Sacked in the Morning, You're Gonna Be Sacked in the Morning" :D

The support from three sides of the ground was amazing, loud, constant & proud.

Wonderful scenes, well done to Gareth & all his players.

Attendance: 17,247.

Sadly, I missed the match - decided to stay away, in solidarity with Gary Lineker. ;)
Will be there next Sat. though.
