The Youth Kit Sponsors Evening And Our Trophy Presentation

On Thursday 17th April, the Youth Kit Sponsors Evening was held once
again in the Tony Ingham Suite.

We were told by Steve Brown that over £3,600 had been raised this time.
“We were able to purchase several laptops for the Scholars which has
helped enormously with assisting with their studies at Harlington.”

After Steve Brown spoke about each player individually, they later presented
their kit sponsor with a gift.

Mark Prince made an emotional speech and Pat Harrison spoke on behalf of
the late Ron Bannister.

His family had sponsored Antonio German in memory of Ron, the former Chairman
of the Official Supporters Club.

Big Dave kindly sponsored our trophy this time and
he presented the Kiyan Prince Youth Team Player of the Year award to
Romone Rose on behalf of the Independent R’s.

I would once again like to thank the Club for allowing us to make the presentation
on the night, which seemed more appropriate with most of the Saturday morning
regulars present. Well done Romone.

Reflecting on the evening, Steve Brown later said: “When Keith and I arrived here at
the start of the Season we hit the ground running and didn’t know any of the boys,
their families or the fans that turn up every weekend to watch the youth teams in action.

This was a great opportunity for both of us to meet some of the people that support
us every week and a chance to say thank you, not just for the sponsorship they give, but
for the fact they come to Harlington every weekend and also travel away to show their
support for the youngsters at this club.

I now know who the ‘Saturday Morning Crew’ are and I can put names to faces !”

Lastly I would like to thank Terry Springett for organising such an enjoyable evening
for us.
