I have decided, after much soul searching, that I will not be renewing my season ticket.

Attending matches (the few that I could bring my self to attend last season) had become a habit,
rather than a labour of love. I am afraid that the enthusiasm (at 76) to attend games has gone,
and cannot see the point in renewing my ticket, what with the cost involved as well.

I my first game at Loftus Road was with my Dad in 1960. It was against Southampton
(still got the programme - price 4p) and the R's lost 1-0, so no change there then!!

I will no doubt be keeping in touch with everyone, and who knows, be attending the odd game
if I feel up to it.

In answer to your question as to where I grew up, I was born in what was the old
Paddington General Hospital on the Harrow Road W9 in 1947.

My Mum and Dad lived in Amberley Road, just a stones throw from the Hospital by
Lock Bridge, and I also attended Amberley School for a short time.

Subsequent addresses were Porchester Square W2, Kilburn Lane W10 and then
Pitfield Way NW10 prior to getting married.

Hi Steve.

Regarding Paul's wonderful article on Paddington, to my eternal shame, I must
have read it at some point, but had completely forgotten the substance.

I have subsequently save Paul's article to my PC for future reference. My Dad's Mum and Dad
were originally from Green Street (later to become North Wharf Road) which was directly
opposite to Paddington Green on the other side of the Harrow Road.

Paul spoke of being born
in Torquay Street, which brought back memories of one of my friends from Hallfield School in
Bayswater (1954-1958) who lived in Torquay Street.

Beginning to waver big time now.

My wife say's go on, you know you want to, what else are you going to do, and that you
will carry on checking the score on the PC every five minutes!!

Thank goodness that I have until the 30 June to make a final decision.
