QPR 0 BLACKPOOL 1 16/8/22

Post by Kerrins »

An awful performance. No creativity in midfield and certainly none up front. No space.
No pass and move and more often than not ousted in the tackle.

Second best to a mediocre Blackpool team who to be fair deserved their 1-0 win.

As I have already stated pre season many times there is not a half decent Championship
standard striker on the clubs books. We should never have let Austin and Gray depart.
They are better than what we have got

The only consolation is that we do have Willock and Amos to return.

It reminded me of the old plastic pitch days with nobody controlling the ball.
Up front we were very poor with no understanding between the front players.

Not sure if Dykes lacks support or he is not up to the job and he limits his better
performances to every sixth or so game. Armstrong imposed himself far more in his cameo
appearance and was one of the few to worry the opposition defence. He just needs to get
his first goal and composure will come with regular appearances.

The big disappointment was the return of the faffing around at the back with at times
hospital balls with Blackpool high pressing.

Hopefully the return of Willock on Saturday will see an improved performance.
It can only be!

You could point the finger at a few players last night, but I have to mention the performance(s)
of Lyndon Dykes. Lazy, slow, disinterested and has the touch of an elephant.

We have 2 weeks left in the transfer window, the club should do everything they can to move him on.
He wouldn’t be missed.

When the team news came through, I was pleased to see Ethan Laird & Kenneth Paal start.
Why no Macauley Bonne on the bench?

Blackpool were looking dangerous with their swift counter-attacks & with men spare.

Someone near me had to keep giving Josh Bowler loud abuse every time he got the ball
& it was no surprise that it was him who scored,
Would love to have him back.

Ilias hasn't regained his 'zip' yet, Stefan too slow, & really needs to be left out of the side,
Tyler Roberts looks a class act & was surprised when he was taken off :?:

The shape of the team looked puzzling at times & didn't look like 4-3-3 :?:

Prior to his introduction, fans chanted for Sinclair Armstrong.
He really must start on Saturday

Blackpool much the better side & recorded their first win at Loftus Rd in 50 years.

Probably wouldn't have made any difference but I was absolutely fuming when 4 added
minutes went up  With all those subs in the 2nd half, drinks break & Blackpool
players dropping like nine pins how could that be justified????

It was a quiet journey back until the driver announced that Perivale & South Ruislip
stations were closed due to staff shortages

Good to meet up with Swedish R's, Peter Karlsson & Niklas Molin in the Crown & Sceptre
pre-match.
