'Rangers manager focus now clear as update on Michael Beale emerges
Michael Beale is currently the sole priority of Rangers as they look to replace
Giovanni van Bronckhorst as manager, according to Alan Nixon.

The QPR boss, and former assistant to Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, has emerged
as the front-runner for the manager’s job after the Dutchman was removed
on Monday (21 November).'

Hmmm......don't know how kosher this is, but it could be a problem, if true.
I know some fans weren't too impressed when he joined us, and some have
lost patience with our recent slide; but the question (as always) is -
who could we get to replace him??

Problems and speculation will not go away if he stays and our
results improve.
It can only unsettle the players and we need a strong commitment
statement from him in the light of all the speculation.

We probably need to appoint the world’s worst manager if he goes
then we can all go back to sleep! :D

This reminds me of a post I made a few weeks ago; I'd had a few drinks with 2 Glasgow Rangers fans,
who banged on about how good he is, how lucky we were to have him.
This was pooh-poohed, as them winding me up.......now, I'm not so sure.

From BBC Sport...

'Rangers have held talks with Michael Beale about the Queen's Park Rangers
manager becoming Giovanni van Bronckhorst's successor.

Discussions with Beale, who spent three years at Ibrox as part of Steven Gerrard's
staff, are believed to be at an advanced stage.

Other candidates have also been considered and spoken to, but the 42-year-old
is their number one target.

An appointment could potentially be made by Rangers next week.

Beale took over at Loftus Road in the summer with the side currently seventh
in the Championship following a run of four defeats from five games.

Van Bronckhorst, who was in the job for just 12 months, was sacked earlier this
month with Rangers nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.

The Ibrox side also recorded the Champions League's worst ever group stage
campaign, despite making it to last season's Europa League final.

Under Gerrard, Rangers halted Celtic's bid for 10 league titles in 2021, with Beale
then following the former Liverpool captain to Aston Villa the following campaign.'

And this from West London Sport...

Mick Beale looks set to leave QPR for Rangers after the Scottish club made
an official approach for him.

Former Blackpool manager Neil Critchley is among those being considered as a
replacement for Beale, who is now holding formal talks with Rangers about taking over at Ibrox.

Beale wants the job and made no attempt to distance himself from recent reports that
he is on course to return to the club where he was previously assistant manager.

He has a close relationship with Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson, who is keen to
appoint him, although other senior figures at the club are believed to want to explore other
options, including former Burnley boss Sean Dyche.

With an official approach to QPR having now been made, it appears that Wilson has got his
way and that Beale is in pole position.

Beale, who previously coached at Liverpool and Chelsea, was Steven Gerrard’s assistant at
Rangers before they left Glasgow when Gerrard became manager of Aston Villa.

Beale left Villa to take over at Loftus Road during the summer and was replaced as Gerrard’s
assistant by Critchley, who quit as Blackpool boss in order to take the job – like Beale, he previously
worked with Gerrard as a coach at Liverpool.

Critchley is now available, having left Villa following the sacking of Gerrard, and his record
of developing players and working on a modest budget makes him an obvious contender to
replace Beale.

QPR might need to move quickly, however, as Critchley has been discussing taking a coaching role
at Bournemouth.

Beale recently rejected the chance to take over as Wolves manager but is less inclined to say no to
Rangers, where he is a popular figure.

Speaking after it was confirmed he would not be leaving for Wolves, he said: “I didn’t think it was
the right moment, because I entered into an agreement here.

“Integrity is a real big thing for me, and loyalty. You don’t give it to receive it back but I think if they
are the values you live by then at times when you’re put in a position then you have to be strong by them.

“I have been all-in here and I have asked other people to be all-in so I can’t be the first person to run
away from the ship.”

So if he does go so much for loyalty or does it have a different meaning for him?

Latest from the Daily Record...

QPR chairman Amit Bhatia has sparked a social media storm after liking a Tweet
that slammed boss Michael Beale as his move to Rangers gathers pace.

Beale is the leading candidate to replace Gio van Bronckhorst with the Rangers board
in negotiations with Steven Gerrard's former assistant and Loftus Road chiefs over a
move after making their formal approach for the boss.

However, Beale's interest in a return to the Scottish Premiership has caused an angry
response from the QPR fans with their manager turning down the Wolves job just a month ago.

In the midst of the backlash Beale deleted his Twitter account while posts on his Instagram
have now had their comments turned off and fans can't post any messages to him.

However, that hasn't stopped the chairman of the English Championship club. When Beale turned
down the opportunity to move to the Premier League Bhatia lauded his manager for the "trust"
he showed when "he stood at a crossroad".

That tone appears to have quickly soured after he liked a post that was heavily critical of
Beale. It read: "Actually low that Michael Beale, who talks very high (well thought he did)
speaks highly of the owners, fans and what he is doing at QRR then sees Rangers offer him a job
and does a runner, deletes Twitter – the lot!"

The owner was tagged in the tweet which added: "That’s low… @Amit_Bhatia99 must be fumingggggg."
After Bhatia then liked the post QPR fans shared the post stating it was proof of the chief's anger
at talks with Rangers.

And from 'The Athletic'....

'Rangers are closing in on the appointment of Michael Beale as their new manager
after a deal was agreed with QPR.

The Athletic reported on Saturday that the Scottish Premiership side had been given
permission to speak to the 42-year-old about replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

And Beale arrived in Glasgow on Sunday evening after Rangers agreed to pay the asking
price to release him from his current contract in West London.'
