Taylor Richards - Can’t get himself going apparently.

Post by Tommy Cunningham »

Just reading Neil Critchley’s comments on Taylor Richards, apparently he can’t get
himself going.
This is a young player who has started one game all season, worst of all is under the terms
of his agreement we are obliged to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

If anybody ever wonders why our club is restricted financially, take a long look at
our recruitment. We had Roberts who didn’t fancy it last week, this week Richards
allegedly can’t get himself going. Clarke-Salter no doubt on a lucrative contract and
every Saturday off, Laird and Iroegbunam not bothered anymore.

Balogun not wanted by any club, until the respect and integrity man from Glasgow
signed him and then pissed off.

To say I am shocked that we are obliged to sign Richards is a massive understatement,
surely somebody at QPR must be held accountable for the disastrous recruitment of these
players who have given nothing to QPR.

Bhatia, Hoos and Ferdinand must go, but no doubt the blame will all land
with Neil Critchley.

Peculiar phrase to use.
Physical or Mental? To coin a phrase we should be told.

Plenty of rumours around saying the squad does not like Critchley and
are ignoring him. It shows!

Unfortunately this season the club have recruited so many duds players and managers,
that surely somebody has to be held accountable for their performance with such
appalling recruitment. Taylor Richards is not the only player at QPR who can’t get
going, the loan signings have been abysmal and unfortunately we are stuck with them
until the end of the season.

The players refusing to put in a shift for Neil Critchley, just shows you the level of
player at QPR and the disgraceful level of professionalism amongst them.
There is not one player in that squad I would keep.

I can’t remember when the morale of QPR supporters was so low, the club is in
complete and utter turmoil.

The supporters are now beginning to make their feelings known.

Let’s hope it results in massive change.

So what kind of manager is acceptable to these spoilt children called professionals?
One that takes them clubbing on a Friday night?
One that doesn’t raise his voice when they don’t play to the standards expected?
One that buys them all sweets when they’ve lost yet again?

You have to wonder and do we have one or two bad apples in the dressing room?
Even by their standards (6 games runs without a win were not unusual under Warburton)
they have excelled themselves and taken apathy and losing to a different level.
It would be nice if a player came on an Rs message board to explain their side of it but
I’m not holding my breath.

Absolutely no chance of any player or official from the club, having the courage to go on
any forum and put their side of it to the supporters.
In all honesty I have no doubt that if as expected Critchley departs, there will be no shortage
of those overrated, overpaid, pampered tossers having plenty to say about him.

I have said it on here before and I will say it again, when Gerry Francis was manager of
QPR his attention to detail was phenomenal. When looking to sign players, he would
research every aspect of that player. If that player did not reach the criteria he was
looking for, he would move on and look elsewhere.
Even Alan Sugar commented on how thorough he was when scouting players at Tottenham.

We have a DOF in Les Ferdinand and his sidekick Chris Ramsey, in the 8 years he has been
in the role I can’t think of any players signed or developed and sold on for substantial fees.
Eberechi Eze never came through the youth system at QPR, he was released by Arsenal,
Fulham, Reading and Millwall before signing for QPR.

Daniel Levy soon outed Ferdinand, Sherwood and Ramsey at Tottenham, saw no value in
keeping them at his club.

A new training ground has been needed at QPR for many years, now we have our own base
owned by the club we should now have a clear strategy going forward.

If it still is the board’s intention to develop our home grown players, then we need a scouting
network to look for players globally. At the present time we are going nowhere, the underage
teams are finishing bottom or near the bottom every year.

How the coaches of the underage teams retain their positions with the club is a mystery to me,
in any other business individuals who repeatedly performed so poorly would be removed from
their positions.

That'd be a good question for the next Fans' Forum!

Exactly Kerrins how we could do with a Derek Healy now.

When you look back at these players recruited by Derek Healy for QPR.

Ron Hunt, Tony Hazell, Ian and Roger Morgan, Frank Sibley, Gerry Francis, Martyn Busby,
John Delve, Dave Clement, Ian Gillard, Mick Leach, Ron Abbott, Tony Tagg,
Alan Spratley, Ian Evans, John Beck, Alan Mayes, Phil Nutt.

Recruited from non-league:
Andy McCulloch, Richard Teale, Danny Westwood.

It’s fair to say the careers of some, were better than others for varying reasons.

Then you look at the recruitment of players to QPR today, we seem to be signing injury
prone players , players on trial after being released by EPL clubs, loans from EPL clubs
who in all honesty have no chance of establishing themselves at their parent clubs.

It is a process that simply has not worked and needs change.

I think it is a lazy recruitment process every season with no vision for the future.

Gareth Ainsworth has worked the lower leagues for over 10 years, he must be given
carte blanche to build his own team within reason by the club now.
