Interesting appointment.....news from the Club

'KEVIN Betsy has been named Individual Development Coach at QPR, joining from Cambridge United where he was assistant manager.
Betsy, who had a 17-year playing career in England and achieved promotion from every division in the Football League before moving into coaching, said: “I am absolutely delighted to take on this role, it is a great time to be joining the club.

“Martí Cifuentes, the staff and players achieved a fantastic end to last season and I am really looking forward to coming in and helping in any way that I can.”

'After his playing career ended, Betsy initially worked in academy football with Fulham prior to taking up a role
with England. There, he coached the Under 15s before progressing to Under 16s, Under 17s and Under 18s during a
five-year spell at St George’s Park.

He was also an assistant for the Under 19 – Under 21 age groups.

Betsy left the national team to join Arsenal as Under 23s head coach in 2021 before taking up a position as Crawley Town
manager in the summer of 2022, where he remained for 18 months.

After a spell as assistant manager with Wigan Athletic, Betsy moved to the Abbey last summer to take up a similar role.

Betsy, who has joined the squad in Girona, added: “While I will be a first-team coach at QPR, my main focus will be
working with individual players and helping them to develop – that’s the younger players and the senior players.

“If I can add one per cent to a player’s development, then that’s fantastic.

“My aim is to help Martí, the staff and players to have a successful season.”

CEO Christian Nourry said: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Kevin to Queens Park Rangers.

“With the creation of this new specialised role within the first team to support Martí and Xavi, it was critical that we identified a world-class developer of talent with a proven track record.

“Kevin has worked with some of the biggest talents in English football.

“I wish him every success at the club.”
