New Striker
Still waiting impatiently for us to sign a prolific goal scoring forward!!
I note that Millwall have already stolen a march on QPR and signed highly rated Longstaff from Notts County, whilst
we sleep walk into the new season still without an out and out striker.
Any other views on this subject?

Morning Bill....
We await the arrival with baited breath mate, in the meantime I hear that Rodneee has
purchased new laces & applied dubbin on his boots....

Re: New Striker
Supplied by Delamens of Harlesden High Street no doubt Steve.
Seriously though, how many seasons is it that with a new season imminent, QPR seem incapable of
signing a half decent striker.
Having just Frey upfront (I am assuming that Lyndon Dykes will be missing due to his injury) is quite worrying
in my view.
Well Steve, I have finally gone and done it, and not renewed my season ticket. This is for no other reason than
that I could not justify laying out £403 (or what ever it is) and miss half the season for one reason or another,
which was what happened last season. I fully intend to attend the odd game as and when I see fit.
All the very best mate, I will obviously keep in touch and continue to post on Indy R's.

Re: New Striker
There was a rumour in my part of the world a short while ago that Charles the Bolton Striker was being much sought
after by certain Championship Clubs including QPR FC.
A twenty goals a season man last two years at league One level. Could he do likewise in the Championship?
Would Bolton let him leave? Could we afford the fee?
My own view is that a gamble on him is preferable to continuing with Dykes or any other of the so called strikers
we have on the books.(Kolli excepted perhaps)

Re: New Striker
This obsession with midfielders across all divisions doesn’t help when looking for strikers.
In the dubbin days most kids wanted to be a striker and the glory of goals.
Sadly neither ourselves or most other clubs are producing strikers now and anyone who does look like a prospect
is snapped up.
I agree with Young Kerrins that we should look at the lower leagues for a forward who at least knows what a goal looks
like and fine tune him for the Championship.
Or….we could wait for Kelman and Armstrong to come good in their mid thirties!!
Health warning. Please do not hold your breath waiting for this.

Re: New Striker
Yes Essex that is a very valid slant on the striker situation.
The status Quo is just not acceptable if we are to make further progress.
Surely someone like Marti is aware of the situation. I hope he is not being forced from above to "make do and mend".
Our manager is good but not in the blood out of a stone category

Re: New Striker
I fancied Alfie May at Charlton last season to do a striker role for us.
We finished in an upward trajectory last season whilst Blackburn slid down in freefall. What’s the chances Scmodicz
would fancy a switch to us?
Whilst Chair scored some great goals, he has a high waste rate and should he be tasked to stick to feeding strikers we may
be more productive over a season than benefitting from his small return of excellent goals accompanied by x amount of wides.
What’s expected for Kolli come the new season?
And we must feed Armstrong on the run forward and forget playing to him with his back to goal.

Re: New Striker
Paul Smyth seemed very under-utilised. He is very tricky and can consistently evade challenge and get a cross away.
I’d like to see him in a front pair wriggling through and getting a shot in rather than a cross.

Re: New Striker
Season after season we seem to return to this conversation.
Going in to the new season with just Frey, Dykes (when fit) and Armstrong up front is a recipe for disaster. Add to the fact that Koli is nowhere near to facing the rigours of the Championship, then I fear the worst.

Good point there Bill. I agree
As our new Government would say....We need action not words
