'NICOLAS Madsen has completed a permanent transfer to QPR from Belgian top-flight side KVC Westerlo.
The 24-year-old central midfielder joins for an undisclosed fee.

Madsen came through the youth system of FC Midtylland in his native Denmark before a loan spell with Herenveen
in the Dutch top flight in 2021/22.

He has been with Westerlo for the past two years and is now relishing plying his trade in England with QPR.

“I am excited,” he said. “The league excites me and the club’s project excites me a lot.

“I can see me developing and that is why I am here.”

Madsen, who has represented Denmark at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level, stands 6’4” tall and he admits that makes
him quite unusual as a player who likes to have the ball at his feet.

“I am a very technical player even though I am also quite tall,” he said, “so it may be a little unusual but with the
ball I have my best abilities.”

Madsen has shown his versatility in recent years in the centre of the park, and that culminated in him scoring 14 goals
from midfield last season to be Westerlo’s top goalscorer.

“Last season I played as a 6, 8 and 10, and it gives me the flexibility to perform in all these positions,” he said.
“If I could choose, I would play as an 8.

“With the role I had last year, I was playing a bit more offensive and I got into these situations I like, to create chances
and also score goals.”

Madsen arrives in west London ready to play, having made four appearances in the Belgian top flight this season, most
recently on Sunday.

“I am in the best shape I have ever been in,” he said.

“Always the best way to get going at a new place is to get started fast and play some games.

“I am excited also to see the fans and the atmosphere in the stadium.”

Madsen will wear squad number 24.
