I heard from Chris Hewitt earlier today that George Gristwood had passed away
at the age of 94. The passing of a true legend. Very sad news indeed.
George still had a terrific memory & at any suitable opportunity I would ask him about the old days.
"Tell me again George about what happened at that 1948 FA Cup replay at Derby" He mentioned a WW2 game at
Wembley when a team comprising of Rangers players took on Chelsea etc etc. So many memories, so many stories......
My condolences to his family.
