Coventry Last Night....

Post by Steve Russell »

A game of few chances for us.
Koki Saito shot just over in the 1st half, Paul Smyth did well to take hold of a long ball,
before cutting in & forcing a good save.

Paul Nardi made a couple of excellent saves.

2nd half, Michael Frey had our best opportunity & should have done better.

Ilias Chair had a low shot saved.

Nardi made a good stop with his body & as we expected an offside flag, he twisted as he went
down to keep out the ball close to the goal-line

Approaching the five-added mins, we had 3/4 successive corners & in the 94th minute
Thomas headed in from a corner

All in all a very disappointing performance.

1,200 R's fans & no stops on the way back meant I got home
just after midnight.

Yep a let down that we ended up with Nil points from this encounter. Sad..

I have to say that even if we had a hatful of chances the probability is that we still would not
have scored.

As I have mentioned before goal scoring is not in this squads DNA. Recent games are
evidence of this.

In general we are quite well organised. can play decent football defend and dig in #
plus plenty of team spirit and determination That's what we do and who we are........
Goal scorers we are not :!:

Played 32, scored 35. And we're about mid-table, in terms of 'Goals For.'

Yep steve correct stats I'm sure....but how many times have we scored more than two goals in a match this season.

Also although anecdotal what is our conversion rate to chances created? Pretty low I bet!
