Our International R's....

Post by Steve Russell »

From the Club

IT'S PROVEN to be a productive break from club football for our International R's., Jimmy Dunne,
Yang Min-Hyeok and Ronnie Edwards (pictured, above) have all made their debuts for the
Republic of Ireland, South Korea and England Under-21s respectively over the past week.

Having been an unused substitute for the first leg of a Nations League doubler-header against Bulgaria,
Dunne came from the bench in the 74th minute in Dublin on Sunday to make his senior bow for the Boys in
Green. Ireland were 2-1 victors on the night, 4-2 on aggregate.

Spurs loanee Yang's debut for South Korea came yesterday (Tuesday), playing the second half of a 1-1 World Cup
qualifying draw versus Jordan. The attacker was an unused sub for Thursday's qualifier versus Oman, which also
ended one apiece.

Completing the hat-trick of international debuts is Southampton loanee Edwards, brought on for the final 12 minutes
of England U21s' 5-3 friendly defeat versus France on Friday. The centre-half was also introduced in the 71st minute
as Lee Carsley's Three Lions overcame Portugal 4-2 at The Hawthorns on Monday.

Elsewhere, Paul Smyth was also in friendly action for Northern Ireland, starting and playing 57 minutes in Friday's 1-1
home draw with Switzerland before clocking up 12 more minutes as a sub in Tuesday's 5-1 reverse in Sweden.

Kenneth Paal was on duty with his native Suriname, too, for a Concacaf Gold Cup qualification double-header against
Martinique. Paal played the full 90 minutes in both legs, as Suriname twice came out on top as 1-0 victors to win 2-0
on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Cian Dillon (Ireland U19s), Alfie Tuck (Wales U19s), Charlie Street (Wales U17s) and Ashley Trujillo (
Colombia U17s) who have also represented their respective nations over the break.

Dillon joined Ireland U19s in Germany for their EURO qualifiers against Finland, Slovenia and Germany - starring
in all three fixtures and getting himself on the scoresheet versus Slovenia. The Boys in Green lost 3-0 to Finland,
1-0 to Germany but drew 1-1 with Slovenia.

Tuck represented Wales U19s in the same competition against England, Portugal and Turkey - making substitute
appearances against England (2-0 defeat) and Turkey (3-1 win) while also starting and clocking up 69 minutes
versus Portugal (1-0 defeat).

Street headed to Albania to represent Wales U17s in their EURO qualifiers against Albania and Azerbaijan - playing
the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Albania. The defender was an unused substitute versus Azerbaijan (0-0 draw).

Finally, Trujillo met up with Colombia U17s and featured in two friendlies against Venezuela (both 1-0 defeats) before
participating in the 2025 South American U17 Championship.

Congratulations to all of our International R's.'
