I was a small boy and saw Conway Smith for Halifax Town against QPR at Loftus Rd, must have been
early '60's.
I was behind the goal where Halifax were warming up an Smith hit a shot, wizzed past the goal
and hit a kid's wooden rattle as he dangled it over the low wall, snapped it in half! ....he could shoot alright!

Re: Conway Smith.....(Shooting Power!)
I was at that game watching from the Loftus Rd Boys pen. Remember Conway Smith playing for Halifax that day.
Never saw him play for the R's though. I think it was around the 1959 era. Without checking the records I reckon
QPR won the fixture 3-1.
Don't recall the incident in question. Probably the school end. Rangers always "kicked in" pre match warm up at the
Loftus Rd end goalmouth in those days.

Re: Conway Smith.....(Shooting Power!)
On the 25th of October 1958 QPR beat Halifax 3-1 at Loftus Rd. League Division 3. Conway Smith
played at inside forward for Halifax in this encounter. I remember it well
Arthur Longbottom scored a Hat Trick for the R's. The att. was 9607.
The following season 1959/60 Rangers beat Halifax 3-0 at Home but I am not sure if Conway Smith
played in that particular game.
