Welcome to the R';s & good luck...
From the Club....
'BOY Kemper has signed for QPR, joining on a free transfer after leaving Dutch side NAC Breda.
The 26-year-old left back comes to west London after spending three years with his former club,
captaining them in his first season – at the age of 24 – to promotion to the top flight.
Having established himself as a favourite with the Breda fans for his commitment and leadership qualities,
Kemper is now ready for a new challenge with the R’s.
“First of all, I’m excited,” he said. “New club, new city, new competition - I'm looking forward to start
and see all the guys.”
Explaining why W12 was his preferred destination for the next step of his career, Kemper said:
“It's a big club with a big history.
“It's a very nice league to play and when you're a little boy, I think everyone is looking to play in a
league like this.
“For me, it's also a big challenge to get the club where they belong - a club like this belongs in the highest
level.”
Describing himself as a player, Kemper said: “I’m a hardworking defender, can go up and down, good cross,
can give the final pass, assist, and defending, very, very solid.
“I think there will not be a winger that will say they like to play against me.”
Kemper’s career began within the Ajax youth system before he moved to ADO Den Haag in the Eredivise in 2021,
and he says his time as skipper with Breda was hugely beneficial for his own development.
“I think you learn a lot because you have different players from different countries, different ages, so you have
to communicate in your own way to be sure that everyone feels good and can be their best on the pitch,” he said.
“I'm vocal on the pitch but next to the pitch, I can be a nice guy to give someone what he needs.
“When you're on the pitch, I think it's important that you be vocal and show what you want as a team."
Having had a walk around MATRADE Loftus Road, Kemper is excited to get going in the blue and white hoops,
adding: “I’m looking forward to the home games, the fans close to the pitch.
“I think I play my best games when the fans are cheering you, so I hope the fans will do that the whole season,
and we can give our best on the pitch.”
CEO Christian Nourry said: “We are excited to welcome Boy to QPR.
“He brings tenacity, physicality, aerial ability, a cultured cross and a venomous strike.
“As a character, we believe that Boy will fit right into this group that continues to display immense work ethic
day-to-day - and that he will help to foster that even further.”
Kemper will officially join QPR on July 1st. This deal is subject to international clearance and work permit.'
